Australia restrict Tigers to 260

Sports Desk: Bangladesh were bowled out for 260 in the first innings of the first Test in Rocket two-match series against Australia at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday.

The Tigers made the score in 78.5 overs in the first day.

Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan scored 84 runs from 133 balls and remained the top scorer for Bangladesh.  Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal scored 71 runs from 144 balls.

The Tigers suffered first jolt as opening batsman Soumya Sarkar (8 off 8 balls 2x4) was departed on 10/1 in 1.5 overs when Tamim on 2 runs.

The host lost Soumya Sarkar, Imrul Kayes and Sabbir Rahman’s wicket within the four overs of the 1st-day in the first Test.

Earlier, Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim won the toss and elected to bat in the opening match of the Rocket two-match series against Australia.
