Aziz Ahmed takes charge as Army Chief

Secretariat Correspondent: Former Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Lieutenant General Aziz Ahmed took over as Army Chief on Monday.
Aziz Ahmed replaced General Abu Belal Mohammad Shafiul Haque who handed over the charge to him formally at the Army Headquarters this noon.
Rezaul Karim, assistant director of the Inter Service Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) Department confirmed the matter.
Earlier, on Monday (June 18), the Defence Ministry issued a notice stating that the Aziz Ahmed will take charge as Army chief from June 25.
