BB says 'no' to approve new bank

KMA Hasnat: Bangladesh Bank (BB) has taken stern position against sanctioning any new bank in private sector.
The central bank has suggested the government not to approve any new private bank, according to sources.
Sources said The Financial Institution Division of the Ministry of Finance, recently, sought approval for sanctioning a new private bank named "The Citizen Bank Limited."
But BB has replied that it should not be approve to sanction any new bank in the private sector.
