BCB announces reward of Tk 2cr for women cricketers

Sports Correspondent: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced reward of Tk 2 crore for Bangladesh women’s cricket team for creating history of clinching international trophy in cricket.

BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon came up with the announcement at a reception programme to the Women’s Team at the capital’s Sonargaon Hotel on Monday evening.

Earlier, the decision was taken in board meeting of BCB on the day.

According to the announcement, each player of the women team will get Tk 10 lakh as reward. Besides, all team members will additionally be awarded on the basis of their performances.

Bangladesh outplayed India by three wickets to get the first-ever title of the six-nation Women's T20 Asia Cup at Kinrara Academy Oval in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Sunday.

Bangladesh Women’s Team touched down Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital from Malaysia by an US-Bangla flight around 5:50pm on Monday.

From there, they directly went to the Hotel Sonargaon to attend the reception programme. BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon accorded reception to them and announced the reward.
