BCL activist shot dead, 2 held

Noakhali Correspondent: An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student wing of the ruling Awami League, was killed by miscreants in Deoti union under Sonaimuri upazila of the district on Tuesday night.

The deceased was identified as Shakil, 23, son of Abul Hashem, hailed from Amirabad village.

Following the murder, the law enforcers detained two suspects named Rasel and Arman.

Sources said that Shakil went to a roadside restaurant around 10:00pm on Tuesday after mic announcement over admission in a local madrasa. Meanwhile, a group of armed assailants opened fire aiming him, leaving him critically injured.

The injured was rushed to Noakhali General Hospital and later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. But, he died around 12:00am on the way of hospital.

Noakhali additional police super AKM Jahirul Islam said that police detained two suspects with fire arms.
