BMW car seized in city

Staff Correspondent: Bangladesh Customs Intelligence has seized a luxurious BMW car, worth about taka 3.5 crore, brought into the country dodging tax.  

The BMW EX5 3000cc black colour car was seized on Tuesday night from the basement of House no 46, Road 25A of Banani.

Sources at Customs Intelligence said the car was being used with a number plate of YF-05PVT, which actually a British number.

Owner of the car, Md. Muhosin Alam, a businessman, imported it in 2011 using the Carnet de Passage system claiming himself a resident of Coventry in UK.

Director General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) Dr Moinul Khan confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.
