BNP chief Khaleda takes iftar with orphans

Senior Correspondent: Like every year, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Sunday took iftar with orphan students and alem-ulema (Islamic scholars) on the first day of the fasting month of Ramadan.

The BNP chairperson arranged the iftar party at the Ladies Club in the capital in the honor of the orphans and alem-ulema.

More than 200 orphan students from different orphanages in Dhaka and Islamic scholars took part in the iftar party.

Khaleda Zia, also a former prime minister, exchanged pleasantries with the guests, including the orphans after entering the venue at 6:20pm.

A munajat was offered seeking divine blessings for peace and progress of the country and welfare of its people before the iftar.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members, Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Moudud Ahmed, Jamiruddin Sircar, Tariqul Islam, Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Nazrul Islam Khan, among others, attended the iftar party.
