BNP decides to join electoral dialogue

Senior Correspondent: BNP has decided to take part in the ongoing dialogue which the Election Commission (EC) is holding with political parties ahead of next general election.

Party’s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made the decision at a press conference held at its Nayapaltan central office in the capital on Thursday.

In reply to a query, Rizvi said “The party is preparing a draft on discussion topic. Nothing can be disclosed at this moment. But I can inform you that we are sending a delegation to the Election Commission on October 15.”

According to the party source, BNP is sending a ten-member delegation led by its Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir to the EC.

Earlier, the EC also held dialogue with civil society members on July 31 and media personalities on August 16 and 17. Later, the EC began the ongoing dialogue with political parties from August 24.
