Senior Correspondent: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) demanded resignation of Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal over the police raid on Khaleda Zia's office.

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir came up with the demand while addressing media at BNP’s Naya Paltan office on Sunday noon.

Terming the raid at BNP office as provocation, he said, “This kind of aggression at a time when the BNP begins the notion of exercising peaceful democratic practices, and presented Vision 2030, is a conspiracy to destroy democratic future.”

He also said, "The police raid on the BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office, which was conducted on a baseless allegation is unprecedented."

Earlier on Saturday, police raided BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's Gulshan office in Dhaka to seize “materials for carrying out anti-state and subversive activities”. They found nothing during the more than two-hour-long search.
