BNP leader Amir Khosru freed on bail

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: BNP standing committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury has been released from Chattogram central jail in a case filed under the ICT Act.

He walked out of Chattogram Central Jail after 21 days behind bar.

Confirming the matter, Proshanto Kumar Banik, senior jailer of the jail said, the bail order came from the High Court in Chattogram Central Jail on Sunday. After verification of the papers, he was released on Monday morning. 

Khosru was sued for intensifying the recent student movement as a reported audio clip of his telephone conversation with a boy went viral on Facebook and YouTube on 4 August.

A telephone conversation of Amir Khosu went viral during the movement on street for the demands of safer roads. Following the incident, Chattogram city unit Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) acting general secretary Zakaria Dastagir filed the case.
