BNP leader Rafiqul jailed for 3 years

Staff Correspondent: A court in Dhaka sentenced BNP leader Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia to three years’ imprisonment in a case filed against him for not submitting his wealth statement.

Dhaka Special Judge Court-6 Judge Sheikh Golam Mahbub passed the order on Tuesday.

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) found allegation that Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia pilled illegal wealth. The watchdog issued notice to submit wealth statement on April 7, 2001.

Later, ACC officer Syed Liaqat Hossain filed the case against Barrister Rafiqul with Uttara police station on January 15, 2014.
