BNP men clash with cops at Nayapaltan

Senior Reporter: BNP men locked into a clash with cops at Nayapaltan in the city on Wednesday noon.
The clash began around 1.00pm when law enforcers obstructed BNP men to gather on the road in front of the party office.
Agitated BNP men hurled brick chips at cops. They also set fire to several vehicles and vandalized some vehicles.
To bring the situation under control, police used tear gas.
The clash was continuing when this report was filed.
On November 12, BNP began selling its nomination papers to aspirants at the party’s political office Nayapaltan and Wednesday is the third day for colection of nomination forms.
On Tuesday, the Election Commission (EC) asked the law enforcement agencies to remain alert so that none can carry out showdown at the time of collecting and submitting nomination papers for the 11th parliamentary election.
