BNP slams govt for hajj flight disorder

Senior Correspondent: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has slammed the government for the disorder in hajj flight management.

BNP Senior Joint General Secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed came up with the criticism at a press briefing at the party's Nayapaltan central office on Saturday.

He said, "So far 19 hajj flights were cancelled in 12 days, while 40 thousand hajjis were still uncertain about whether they would be able to make the pilgrimage."

For this, irregularities and mismanagement of the Ministries of Aviation and Religious Affairs are responsible, he added.

He also criticised Finance Minister AMA Muhith for his remark that the 16th amendment of the constitution will be passed in the parliament every time it will be scrapped by the High Court (HC).

He also termed the finance minister’s statement as clearly a contempt of court and contrary to the rule of law.
