BNP to get legal notice: Obaidul Quader

Staff Correspondent: Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, also the general secretary of Awami League said BNP will also get legal notice for sending baseless notice to Prime Minister.

Obaidul Quader made the opinion while addressing a winter cloth distributing programme organized by north unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Awami League at Kamalapur Railway station on Friday.

He said, "Begum Khaleda Zia said that Padma Bridge is being constructed of patchwork! The reply has been given to her, So, no more talk about that issue. Now Fakhrul Saheb said that there is a fault in Padma Bridge design. Please prove the design fault. Show the data-information of mistake, otherwise face case."

Criticizing BNP, Obaidul Quader said, "The country experienced its lowest recorded temperature in 50 years. Our leader asked us to distribute winter cloths watching Thakurgaon's winter condition in television scroll. We went to the spot instantly. We distributed cloths during the heavy winter. We distributed Tk 32 lakh cash and 37,000 blankets in Saidpur. Our politics has become cruel."

Except Awami League, no political parties were seen to stand besides people suffering from cold, he said.

Dhaka Metropolitan Awami League south unit president Abul Hasnat presided over the programme where Awami League office secretary Abdus Sobhan Golap, Rail Minister Mujibul Haque, Metropolitan South General secretary Shahe Alam Murad, Joint general secretary Dilip Roy and others attended.
