'BNP wants punishment of real culprits of August 21 attack'

Senior Correspondent: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that his party wants exemplary punishment of real culprits of the August 21 grenade attack.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam made the opinion while addressing a press conference in the party's Nayapaltan office in capital on Monday.

Following the remarks of top leaders of the ruling party, he said, "BNP condemned and protested of the incident in past. Still the party condemns. We also want proper trial of the real perpetrators of the attack to stop recurrence of such a ruthless incident."

BNP Secretary General also said the government is using the issue of August 21 grenade attack as a weapon to suppress and weaken BNP. 

BNP standing committee members Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain, Moudud Ahmed, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Abdul Moin Khan, Nazrul Islam Khan, Vice Chairman Khandakar Mahbub Hossain, Joynal Abedin and others attended the programme.
