BNP’s decision was not right: Fakhrul

Senior Correspondent: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Sunday said their party’s previous decision over taking oath of its MPs-elect in the December-30 election was wrong.

The BNP leader made the comment while speaking at a programme organized by Sammilito Chhatra Forum at the Jatiya Press Club in the capital marking the 4th death anniversary of BNP leader Nasir Uddin Ahmed Pintu.

“We should keep it in mind that nothing can be achieved by raising cheap slogans. Our acting chairman has taken the right decision as we’ve to fight both in and outside parliament,” Fakhrul said.

Speaking at the discussion, the BNP leader further said, “I don’t have any hesitation to say that our earlier decision of not going to parliament was not right at that moment. We must carry on our fight on all the fronts.”

He suggested BNP leaders not to talk about party’s problems in any public meeting. “I urge you all to talk about party problems in party forums only.”
