BPL to kick off Nov 4

Sport Desk: The fifth season of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will be launched on November 4. The opening ceremony of the tournament will be held on November 2.

Afzalur Rahman Sinha, Chairman of BPL governing council, came up with the announcement in press briefing at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

A total of eight franchises are taking part in the season. They are Comilla Victorians, Dhaka Dynamites, Rajshahi Kings, Khulna Titans, Rangpur Riders, Chittagong Vikings, Barisal Bulls and Sylhet Superstars.

Sylhet Superstars are set to rejoin the game after they missed last two seasons.

The franchise was kicked out from the tournament due indiscipline in economic transaction.

Some 60 matches to be held in the season are scheduled to be held in Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet.

Every team will be allowed to let play four to five foreign players each match.

The player drafts for this upcoming season will be held on September 16.
