BSMMU physician dies, family claims murder

Staff Correspondent: An allegation of unnatural death of Dr Rajan Karmakar, Assistant Professor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), has found. Family claimed that he was murdered.

Rajan, Assistant Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department of BSMMU, was rushed to the capital’s Square Hospitals early where attending doctors declared him dead.



Sujon Karmakar, maternal uncle of Rajan, said that he was murdered. We demand a fair investigation into the incident and want to know the causes behind his death through autopsy.

Family sources said, Rajan was not in good relation with his wife Krishna Rupa.

Jane Alam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, said we sent a team after we were informed over the incident. The team members discussed with members of the both families. No case has yet not been filed till the report was published.
