Bail hearing for Shahidul Alam on Sept 11

Staff Correspondent: Lawyer of eminent photographer Dr Shahidul Alam, who was arrested in an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) case, filed a petition seeking bail to him.
The petition was lodged with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sessions Judge K M Imrul Kayes on Tuesday.
The court fixed September 11 for hearing on the petition.
Jayedur Rahman, lawyer of Shahidul Alam, confirmed the news.
Shahidul Alam was remanded in the case for seven days on August 12. He was sent to jail after remand ended on August 12.
Earlier on August 5, a group of people identifying themselves members of Detective Branch (DB) Police picked Shahidul up from his Dhanmondi residence.
Later, he was shown arrested in the case.
