Banani rape: Evidences found in primary interrogation

Staff Correspondent: Primary evidences found in the incident of Banani rape after interrogating the two accused-- Safat Ahmed and Sadman Sakif-- arrested on Thursday, police claimed.

Krishna Pada Roy, joint commissioner (crime) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), came up with the disclosure in a press briefing at its media centre on Friday noon.

A four-member probe body was formed to uncover the incident properly. The committee includes three officials of DMP's crime and investigation, he added.

Krishna Pada Roy said the investigating supporting committee was formed with the direction of DMP commissioner to gather all information with evidences as the case was filed late.

Earlier with the directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Haque, a team of Police Headquarters arrested the two accused from Madina Market of Sylhet City around 9:15pm on Thursday.

Later, they were brought to Dhaka and kept at the office of Detective Branch (DB).
