Read Yahya Khan's statement; says PM

Staff Correspondent: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also Awami League President, said people who says country's independence was not achieved by a single person, they should read the statement made by the then Pakistan's president Yahya Khan.

The Premier came up with the remark while speaking at a programme at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the capital on Wednesday afternoon.

Sheikh Hasina said, "Some people of our country are fellows of BNP-Jamaat. They think themselves wiser and Intellectuals. While they work, they shelter ill activities and encourage them to do it. But why?"

She said, "Those who awarded the killers of the father of the nation with power, why nation will not hate them? Why they will lead in the country's mainstream politics? Why conspiracies will be done to bring them in power?
