'Bangabandhu was underestimated in 16th amendment verdict'

Staff Correspondent: Attorney General (AG) Mahbubey Alam said Bangabandhu was underestimated in the verdict of 16th constitutional amendment.

He said, "The court said in the verdict that the independence was not achieved by any single person. It was very much flagitious which hurt the whole nation."

AG told this to the reporters at his Supreme Court office on Saturday evening.

He also said one day the remarks will be removed from the verdict.

He also expressed his hope that the High Court (HC) will uphold the trial court's verdict in the Narayanganj sensational seven-murder case.

Attorney General said, "Several law enforcers being persuaded and influenced by a person (Nur Hossain) committed the tragic incident. So, they should be given exemplary punishment."
