Bangladesh Women bowl out Proteas for 223

Sport Correspondent: Bangladesh National Women Cricket Team bowled out South Africa National Women Cricket Team for 223 in 49 overs after the visitors won toss and chose to bat first in the second of a five-match One Day International series in Cox's Bazar.

 

The match has begun at 9:30am Saturday at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium.

 

South Africa Women started well and made a 115-run opening partnership. However, Bangladesh fowlers fought back and dismissed Lizelle Lee, the Player of the Match of the last game, in the 22nd over.

 

 

Lee scored 70 off 57 balls hitting 13 fours. Another opener Andrie Steyn added 66 off 98 balls with 8 boundaries. The visitors lost their all ten wickets for next 108 runs. They were all out in 49 overs scoring 223 runs.

 

Khadija Tul Kubra claimed 4 wickets for 56 while Nahida Akter, Lata Mondal, Panna Ghosh and Jahanara Alam got one wicket each.

The visitors are leading the series 1-0 as they won the first match by 86 runs.  


The rest of the matches will be held at the same venue on 16, 18 and 20th January.
