Bangladesh beat Maldives 1-0

Sports Desk: Bangladesh beat Maldives by 1-0 goal in the five-team Group B of the AFC Under-19 Championship Qualifiers at the Hisor Central Stadium in Tajikistan on Thursday.

The first half of the match was goalless. Bangladesh youths played better in the second half also but could not secure goal till 90 minutes of the game. No.9 jersey holder Mahbubur Rahman scored the decisive goal for the winning side in the dying minutes of the match.

Earlier in the day’s first match, Uzbekistan made a flying start crushing Sri Lanka by 10-0 goals at the same venue at noon.

In the remaining Group B matches, Bangladesh will play Uzbekistan on November 6 and Sri Lanka on November 8, both at 3pm Bangladesh time at the Hisor Central Stadium in Tajikistan.
