Bangladesh beat New Zealand by 5 wickets

Sports Desk: Bangladesh beat New Zealand by five wickets in Walton Tri-nation Series at Clontarf Cricket Club Ground in Dublin on Wednesday (May 24).

This win promoted Bangladesh above Sri Lanka into sixth place in the ODI rankings.

Chasing 271, Tamim Iqbal (65) and Sabbir Rahman (65) put Bangladesh on course before solid contributions from Mahmudullah (46*) and Mushfiqur Rahim (45*) helped the team register their first win against New Zealand overseas.

Earlier, Tom Latham led from the front for New Zealand as his 84 helped the team reach 270/8.

Mashrafe, Shakib Al Hasan and Nasir ended the game with two wickets to each of their names while Mustafiz and Rubel Hossain claimed one apiece.

Earlier, winning toss, Bangladesh skipper choose to field first against Back Caps.
