Bangladesh beat Pakistan by 14-0 goals

Sports Correspondent: Bangladesh, thanks to Shamsunnahar junior’s four goals, beat Pakistan 14-0, beginning their title defence in the SAFF U-15 Women's Football Championship in the opening day at the Changlimithang Stadium in Bhutan on Thursday night.

With this victory, Bangladesh took lead for the spot in the semi-final tournament.

Bangladesh team will take on Nepal in their second and final match on July 13.

On Thursday, the girls in red and green took lead by 6-0 goals against Pakistan in the first-half. Even they did not give any single chance to the counter team in the first 45 minutes of the match.

Of the total 14 goals, Shamsunnahar junior alone scored four at 50, 54, 57 and 90 minutes. Tohura Khatun (5”, 19”, Sajeda Khatun (48”, 58” and Anai Mogini (60”, 88”) shared two goals each.

Monika Chakma (17”), Shamsunnahar (31”) and Maria Manda (39”) smashed a goal each.

In the second-half, Bangladesh girls took only 12 minutes (48 to 60 minutes) to score 6 goals.

Bangladesh girls are tipped as favourites to retain the regional title, which they clinched last December in Dhaka following back-to-back title triumphs of the now-defunct AFC U-14 Girls Regional (South and Central) Football Championship.
