Bangladesh hosting tri-series after eight years

Sports Correspondent: Bangladesh is all set to arrange a tri-nation series with Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in January of the upcoming new year, eight years after hosting a tri-series with India and Sri Lanka in 2010.

Sri Lanka clinched the series title beating the host Bangladesh and visiting India.

Tigers led by Shakib Al-Hasan played two matches against India and Sri Lanka each, they were beaten in all matches. Sri Lanka won the series thrashing India by four wickets.

Bangladesh will take on Zimbabwe in the series beginner on January 15.  The Zimbabwe team are expected to arrive in Dhaka on January 10.

However, before the series beginner, Zimbabwe will get chance to exercise against BCB XI.

Sri Lanka will face Zimbabwe in their first match on January 17 while the Lankans are scheduled to reach Dhaka on January 13.

Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka on January 19 while the second match will be held between the two nations on January 25.

Bangladesh will again face Zimbabwe on January 23 while Sri Lanka will fight against the visiting Zimbabwe in their second match on January 21.

The final match of the series is scheduled to be held on January 27. All the matches of the day-night series will be arranged at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital Dhaka.

Though Bangladesh is going to arrange a tri-nation series at home first time in eight years, Tigers also played a tri-series against New Zealand the host in Ireland in May this year.
