Bangladesh level T20I series beating Windies by 36 runs

Sports Correspondent: An all-round performance by skipper Shakib Al Hasan helped Bangladesh level the 3-match T20I series beating West Indies by 36 runs at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur on Thursday.

Captain Shakib Al Hasan was adjudged the Player of the Match for his five-wicket haul and not out 42 at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.

Winning the toss, visiting West Indies invited Bangladesh to bat first in the second match of the series. Tigers scored 211 runs with the loss of four wickets in stipulated 20 overs.

Opener Liton Das secured highest score (60 off 34) for the team while Ace all rounder Shakib Al Hasan (C) and Soumya Sarkar added 42 and 32 runs respectively.

SS Cottrell bagged two wickets for West Indies while Oshane Thomas and Fabian Allen picked up one wicket each.

To chase 212-run target set by Bangladesh, West Indies managed to score 175 runs losing all wickets. Rovman Powell took the highest 50 runs off 34 balls.

The last match of the series will take place at the same venue on December 22 which became a series decider now.

After losing the Test and ODI series, the visitors bounced back to register a comprehensive victory in the first T20I.
