Bangladesh set 174-run target for India

Sports Desk: Bangladesh have set 174-run target for India in their Asia Cup Super-Four match against India in Dubai on Friday.

Tigers managed to score 173 runs for all wickets in the allotted 50 overs as discipline India hit regular wickets fall in the match.

For Bangladesh, Mehidy Hasan hit the highest score of 42 runs off 50 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes while skipper Mashrafe hit the second highest innings of 26 runs from 32 balls with 2 sixes.

The Tigers reached 101-6 in 33 overs with Mamhudullah becoming the latest batsman to be dismissed when he was trapped leg before by Bhuvneshwar Kumar for 25.

Mosaddek Hossain ( 12 not out) remained at the crease as the last recognised batsman when this report was filed.

Asked to bat first, Bangladesh opened the innings with Liton Das and Nazmul Hossain who both were dismissed in the space of four balls between fifth and sixth overs.

Bhuvneshwar sent back Liton for seven before Jasprit Bumrah got Nazmul Hossain with the same score.

Sakib al Hasan struck Ravindra Jadeja back-to-back fours but fell to the trap of the left-arm spinner giving a catch at square leg to Shikhar Dhawan for 17.

Jadeja then trapped Mohammad Mithun for nine before forcing Mushfiqur Rahim to give a catch to Yuzvendra Chahal, leaving Bangladesh stuttering at 65-5.

Mushfiq, who was rested during 136-run loss to Afghanistan on Thursday, made 21 runs.

Mahmudullah and Mossaddek tried to steady the inning but could not add more than 36 runs in their sixth wicket stand.
