Bangladesh trail Sri Lanka by 361 runs after Day-2

Sports Desk: Bangladesh were 133 for 2 at stumps, trailing Sri Lanka by 361 runs in the first innings at the Galle International Stadium on Wednesday.

Soumya Sarkar was batting on 66 and skipper Mushfiqur Rahim on 1 when the players left the field.

Dashing batsman Tamim became victim of a run out bowled by Sri Lankan bowler N Dickwella at 35.6 overs. Tamim scored 57 runs facing 112 balls.

Earlier, Kusal Mendis missed his career's first double century for just six runs, yet that was enough to set Sri Lanka on the way to a healthy total of 494.

Mendis' plan to reach the double century with a six was spoiled by a wonderful catch by Tamim Iqbal off a Mehedi Hasan Miraz delivery and the batsman can only rue not keeping his cool.

Of the Bangladesh bowlers, Miraz picked up four wickets giving away 113 in 22 over while Mustafizur Rahman took two giving away 68 runs in 25 over.

On Tuesday, Sri Lanka captain Herath won the toss and decided to bat first on a well-rolled placid wicket in Colombo.

Bangladesh have three changes - Sabbir, Rabbi and Taijul sit out while Mustafizur, Liton and Subashis are in.
