‘Bangladesh will be World’s hub of electronic products’

Economic Correspondent: Terming Walton as world’s fastest growing manufacturer of electronic products, SM Ashraful Alam, Managing Director of Walton Hi-Tech Industries Ltd. said, maintaining this growth, Bangladesh will become the hub of world’s electronics products.

Not only distributors, dealers and sub-dealers, every customer of Walton products are part of the advancement of county’s electronics industry and maintaining this progress, Walton would become world’s top brand within next 10 years, he hoped.

He made the above statements while delivering the inaugural speech of a four-day international conference that kicked off Saturday (April 21) at Walton headquarters in Chandra of Gazipur with the vow to face the challenges of fast changing trends of world’s electronic business.

Organized by Walton, the distributors meet is being attended by over six thousand local and foreign businessmen.

Speaking on the occasion, SM Shamsul Alam, Chairman of Walton Hi-Tech Industries Ltd. said, once electronics products including refrigerators, televisions and air conditioners were imported to Bangladesh from other countries. But with the progress of Walton, Bangladesh has become self-reliant on manufacturing these products and now they are being imported to other countries. He thanked all distributors, dealers and sub-dealers for their contribution to Walton on this achievement.



Earlier in the morning, the conference was inaugurated by Walton Executive Director Amdadul Hoque Sarker, SM Zahid Hasan and Humayun Kabir, Deputy Executive Director Uday Hakim and Md. Rayhan, First Senior Additional Director Firoj Alam, Brand Ambassador film actor Ilias Kanchan and Amin Khan along with other high officials.

The Walton Headquarter turned festive as distributors, dealers and sub-dealers from home and abroad entered into the conference venue. They also visited different production units of Walton factory equipped with world’s latest technology and machineries.

More than six thousand dealers and sub-dealers from 20 zones of Bangladesh along with distributors from various foreign countries are attending the conference which makes it an international gathering.



1,367 dealers and sub-dealers of Walton’s Dhaka region are participating in the opening day of the conference followed by 1,393 dealers and sub-dealers of Dhaka’s surrounding region on second day.

Moreover, 1,280 dealers and sub-dealers of other areas of the country are going to attend the conference of day 3 on Monday while 887 distributors of Walton from 20 zones are participating in the fourth day of the conference.

The programs of each day of the conference ends with a pleasant cultural function.
