Bangladesh thrash Sri Lanka by 45 runs

Sports Desk: Bangladesh thrashed Sri Lanka by 45 runs in the second and last Twenty20 international match at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Thursday.

The Tigers scored 176 runs for nine wickets in their stipulated 20 overs.

In reply, Sri Lanka lost their all wickets in 18 overs.

Shakib Al Hasan, Imrul Kayes, Soumya Sarkar, Sabbir Rahman, Mosaddek Hossain and Mushfiqur Rahim scored 38, 36, 34, 19, 17 and 15 runs respectively.

Mustafizur Rahman grabbed four and Shakib three wickets while Mashrafe Mortaza, Mahmudullah, Mohammad Saifuddin took one wicket each.

Sri Lanka bowler Lasith Malinga picked up a hattrick with the wickets of Mushfiqur Rahim, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Mehedi Hasan Miraz.

Earlier, Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza won the toss and opted to bat first.
