Bangladeshi youth killed by Rohingya, 2 held

Cox's Bazar Correspondent: A Bangladesh national was hacked to death by Rohingya people in Ramu Upazila of Cox's Bazar on Saturday.

The deceased were identified Abdul Zabbar, 28, son of Bashir Ahmed, hailed from Hedman Para of Khunia Palang union.

Family sources said that Rohingya Hafez Mostafa and Bewala Khatun attacked Abdul Zabbad with lethal weapon, leaving him critically injured.

Later, he was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. But, he died on the way of hospital.

Following the incident, police detained the two Rohingyas from the spot.

Liakat Ali, officer-in-charge of Ramu Police Station confirmed the matter.

Khunia Palang Union Parishad Chairman Abdul Mabud said that the two Rohingyas came in the area two months earlier. The reason behind the murder could not be known immediately.

Earlier on Friday night, four local people were injured in an attack allegedly carried out by a group of Rohingya people near Balukhali Rohingya camp in Ukhia of Cox's Bazar.
