Be careful over misuse of EVM: PM

Staff Correspondent: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given directions to the authority concerned to be careful over misuse of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM).

PM came up with the directions at the weekly Ecnec meeting held at the NEC conference room in the capital with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair on Tuesday.

Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said the Prime Minister told this to the reporters emerging from the meeting.

The Minister said, “Ecnec approved a total of 14 projects with the total estimated cost of Tk 12,544.94 crore including the Procurement, Preservation and Use of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) Aiming at Bringing More Transparency in the Electoral System’. She (PM) asked the authority concerned to be careful to avoid misuse of EVMs and to use it across the country gradually.”
