Bengal Foundation cancels classical music festival 2017

Entertainment Desk: Bengal Foundation has cancelled the Bengal Classical Music Festival 2017 due to the unavailability of its venue.

Bengal Foundation made the announcement in a press conference at the Hotel Westin in the capital around 11:00am on Sunday.

Abul Khair, Chairman of Bengal Foundation said, "They wanted to use the Army Stadium. But, in a letter, Army sports control board (ASCB) replied that's not possible as Pope Francis' is scheduled visit to Bangladesh during the time."

The sixth Bengal Classical Music Festival was scheduled to be held from Nov 23 to Nov 27. The previous iterations of the event had been held at the Army Stadium.

Dhaka University Professor Emirates Dr Anisuzzaman, Director General of Bengal Foundation Luva Nahid Chowdhury and others attended the programme.
