‘Bikalpa Dhara knows nothing about 7-point demand’

Staff Correspondent: Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh joint secretary general Mahi B Chowdhury has alleged that their party was not revealed over 7-point demand announced by Jatiya Oikya Front.

He came up with the allegation in a press conference on Saturday evening, minutes after the new political alliance Jatiya Oikya Front emerged.

Jatiya Oikya Front launched its journey comprising of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Gono Forum, JSD, Nagorik Oikya.

After the announcement of new political alliance sans Bikalpa Dhara, Mahi B Chowdhury briefed media at the capital’s Baridhara.

He said, “Their party was not aware of 7-point demand announced by Jatiay Oikya Front. Besides, they were failed to meet Dr Kamal Hossain despite several attempts, even after visiting the main gate of his house.”

In briefing, Badruddoza Chowdhury said, “Bikalpa Dhara will not form any alliance with anti-liberation forces who are directly or indirectly involved in the process.”

He also demanded 150 seats in the parliament election to keep balance of power and to stop autocracy.

Bikalpa Dhara is not behind any attempt of bringing BNP alone to power, he added.
