Biman supervisor among 2 held over gold smuggling

Staff Correspondent: Customs Intelligence held two people including a ground service supervisor of Bangladesh Biman over gold smuggling at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday.
The detainees were identified as Omar Faruk, ground supervisor of traffic department of Bangladesh Biman, and passenger Kamrul Islam.
Dr Mainul Khan, Director General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department, confirmed the news to risingbd.
He said Kamrul Islam came in along with 1.2 kg gold by a Bangladesh Biman flight from Kuala Lumpur. He was held while he was handing over the gold to Biman employee Faruk.
