Bonanza in fridge & TV sales at Walton Pavilion in extended DITF

Economic Correspondent: Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau extended the period of month-long Dhaka International Trade Fair-2017 by more four days to February 4 from January 31.

Huge crowds are seen at the stalls and pavilions of different products on the extension of the fair. Among those, Walton Mega Pavilion witnessed a bonanza in the sales of fridge, television and other home and electrical appliances as large number of customers swarmed to the pavilion to pick up the best products.

During a visit to the premises of DITF on Wednesday, it was found that a large number of buyers was thronged the Walton Pavilion and the sales executives were passing very busy hours in dealing with them.


Walton Pavilion officials said, marketing highest standard products at affordable rates, lucrative designs and colours, deliberation of swift and best post sales services and finally products of a local brand are resulted in gaining customers’ attention on Walton brand fridges, LED televisions and other home and electrical appliances.

Walton Pavilion In-charge Shafiqul Islam said, this year sales of a new model of refrigerator ‘glass door’ is very well. In addition, some new models like frost fridge of 317 and 333 liter, digital display refrigerator of 283 liter with intelligent inverter technology based compressor, side by side non-frost refrigerator and bachelor fridge turned into ‘hot cake’ among the customers, he noted.

Walton Pavilion Coordinator Shah Shahid Chowdhury said, more than 500 models of products are displayed in the DITF-17, of which more than 100 models of fridge, televisions, laptops, smart phones are new.  

 



Shamsul Alam, who came from the capital’s Azimpur area with his spouse and son at Walton Pavilion, bought a refrigerator. During that time, he said, Bangladeshi Walton brand refrigerator is producing at international standard and price is also within the customers’ reach. These factors encouraged him to purchase Walton refrigerator, he added.

A wounded freedom fighter named Syed Khurshid Alam also bought a new model of frost fridge (333 liter) from Walton Pavilion with 8 percent discount at Tk 27,500.
The pavilion officials said, Walton is displaying and selling out over 100 models of refrigerators, which prices are ranging from Tk 13,900 to Tk 57,900. The fair’s customers are enjoying 8 percent cash discount on all models of fridges.

In addition, there are some gifts like cake maker, floor cleaner mop set, hair straightener with some models of fridges. Home delivery facility within the capital is also offered on Walton fridge.

Like refrigerator, about 70 models of LED televisions are also drawing the customers’ attention at Walton Pavilion.

 



Sales executive of the local brand pavilion Kayser Ahmed said, they are displaying and selling out LED and smart televisions from 19-inch to 55 inch, which prices are ranging from Tk 8,990 to Tk 1.10 lakh. Among these, smart televisions are available in 32, 43, 49 and 55-inch. In the DITF, demands for 24 and 28 inch and 32-inch LED and smart televisions are high.

In addition, the local models are showcasing some upcoming models of LED televisions like 95-inch 4K, 75-inch FHD and 32-inch Quantum Dot Plus technology’s next generation ‘SpectraQ TV.’ Many visitors showed their keen interest in purchasing the upcoming models.

Moreover, Walton brand 22 models of laptops under four series are also alluring the youth, especially the students of secondary, high secondary and university levels.

Mentionable, when Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visited the Walton Pavilion after the inauguration of the DITF-17 on January 1, she lauded the quality of Walton laptops.
