Bus driver held for harassing CU female student

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: Police detained a bus driver for harassing a female student of Chittagong University (CU) in the port city.

The detainee is identified as Biplab Debnath.

A team of Kotwali police station detained him around on Friday midnight. The law enforcers also seized the bus which was used during the molestation.

Kotwali police station Officer-in-charge Mohammad Mohsin said, the female student was going to New Market from the university campus on a bus of route 3. Before it reached New Market, all passengers but she got off the bus and she was the lone passenger.

Meanwhile, the bus driver and his assistant tried to harass her. At one stage, she jumped off the running bus to save herself. 

Police drive is underway to detain the bus helper, OC added.
