Bus hits home minister’s car

Staff Correspondent: The car of Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal was hit by a reckless bus in city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area on Friday night amid the ongoing Traffic Week.

Yeadul Haque, sub-inspector of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, said a Motijheel-bound bus of New Vision Paribahan hit the minister’s car from behind on Mirpur road at College Gate around 9:00pm.

The minister escaped injuries in the accident while his car was damaged slightly, he said.

Police arrested the bus driver Ibrahim Khalil Imon and helper Manik, and seized the vehicle from the spot.

The Traffic Week that began across the country on August 5 will continue till August 11.
