CID finds info of money transaction behind Nusrat murder

Staff Correspondent: Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has information of illegal money transaction to conceal the incident of Feni’s madrasa Nusrat Jahan Rafi murder.

The agency is looking into illegal money transaction over the sexual harassment to Nusrat and killing her setting her on fire after pouring kerosene on her body.

Molla Nazrul Islam, special superintendent of the CID, told this to the reporters at its office in the capital Malibag on Saturday.

He said, “We have found information that a handsome amount of money was transacted to conceal the Nusrat murder incident. As part of the investigation, bank accounts of former Sonagazi OC Moazzem Hossain among other accused will be checked. A CID team will visit Sonagazi to investigate into the matter next week.”

Molla Nazrul said, “Pros and cons from very beginning and ending of Nusrat murder will be investigated. CID will probe into bank accounts of all concerned people in this connection. People who will be found involved in money transaction over the incident will be booked.”

Madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi lost her battle for life on April 10, five days after she was set afire at a madrasa in Feni -- an incident that touched off outrage all over the country.

On April 6, a group of five unidentified persons poured kerosene on the 18-year-old girl and set her afire on April 6 allegedly for refusing to withdraw a case against the principal of Sonagazi Islamia Senior Fazil Madrasa over sexual assault on her late last month.
