CIID summons Apan Jewellers, Raintree Hotel owners

Staff Correspondent: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department (CIID) asked the owners of Apan Jewellers and Raintree Hotel to appear before it on May 17.
The CIID also summoned the managing director of The Raintree Hotel.
The owners of Apan Jewellers included Dildar Ahmed, his father, son and a brother of him while the owners of The Raintree Hotel are the three sons of MP BH Haroon.
They have been asked to appear before it at the headquarters of CIID in the city’s Kakrail area by 11:00am with valid documents, said Moinul Khan, director general of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate.
They will be interrogated over the seizure of jewelry and liquor, he said.
Earlier on Sunday, CIID teams in separate drives seized 286 kilograms of gold and 61 grams of diamond without valid documents from Gulshan, Uttara, Mowchak and Shimanta Square branches of Apan Jewellers.
The team sealed off a branch of the jewellery brand at Suvastu Tower in Gulshan as they found it locked.
Besides, another team of CIID seized 10 bottles of foreign liquor from a room of Raintree hotel on Sunday.
