CJ breaks oath; says AG

Staff Correspondent: Attorney General Mahbubey Alam said that Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha broke his oath as he wrote to Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to stop investigation against former Appellate Division judge Joynul Abedin.

Attorney General came up with the comment while replying to a query of the reporters at his office of the Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday afternoon.

AG said, "The Chief Justice wrote a letter to ACC from his affinity which is against the oath. By this, he broke his oath."

Nobody is above the law, he added, saying with the deed, the Chief Justice tarnished dignity of the judiciary.
