CJ for shifting lower courts to Keraniganj

Staff Correspondent: Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha has put emphasis on the need for shifting lower courts to the area near the Keraniganj central jail to ease carrying of accused to courts from the jail.

The chief justice came up with the opinion while speaking at a meeting after his visit to Keraniganj Central Jail on Monday.

Surendra Kumar Sinha said, "We've observed many accused were snatched while carrying them to courts from the Kashimpur jail. It's very much risky to bring daring accused to courts.”

It needs to relocate lower courts to Keraniganj to avoid risk while carrying the accused, he pointed out.

He asked jail authorities to behave well with the prisoners inside the jail so that the rights they have are not violated.
