'CJ gives verdict on 16th amendment from antipathy'

Staff Correspondent:  Law Commission Chairman, also former Chief Justice ABM Khairul Haque said, "The Chief Justice gave order on the 16th constitutional amendment from antipathy."

ABM Khairul Haque said this while speaking at a programme at the capital's Cirdap auditorium on Saturday.

He said a question has been raised whether the CJ broke his oath through the verdict. It should be done what is practicable after breaking oath.

Law Commission Chairman said he (CJ) told most offensive word terming the parliament ineffective. It should not be language of a judge, judiciary or Supreme Court. It should be remembered judges take oaths.

It is said in the oath that I will not do anything because of fondness or antipathy. Though there is not fondness in the verdict, it includes antipathy, he added.

He said if country's people think that he made the observation from antipathy. Then, you should consider what would be the fate of the verdict.
