CSA announce squad for 1st test against Bangladesh

Sports Desk: The Cricket South Africa (CSA) named the squad for the first test of the two-match series against the visiting Bangladesh on Friday, to be played at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom, from September 28 to October 2.

The 13-member squad includes Aiden Markram who will make his test debut against Bangladesh.

The 22-year-old was a member of the Test squad during the England tour. But, he could not make his debut in the series as he was not included in the final XI and returned home without playing a match. He also captained the South Africa A four-day squad.

The other uncapped player in the squad is all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo. He was also part of the tour group to England. But he also could not make his debut in the tour.

All-rounder, Wayne Parnell, has been recalled to the squad while Vernon Philander, Chris Morris and Dale Steyn all were ruled out due to injuries.

South Africa Squad: Faf du Plessis (captain), Hashim Amla, Temba Bavuma, Theunis de Bruyn, Quinton de Kock, Dean Elgar, Keshav Maharaj, Aiden Markram, Morne Morkel, Duanne Olivier, Wayne Parnell, Andile Phehlukwayo, Kagiso Rabada.
