Cabinet approves 'Mother of Humanity' award

Secretary Correspondent: The government will provide ‘Mother of Humanity Social Work Award’ to those individuals or organisations who are working for the betterment of physically challenged, elderly people and underprivileged.   

The cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, approved the draft of ‘Mother of Humanity Social Work Award Policy, 2018’ for the contribution to social welfare on Monday. 

Cabinet Secretary M Shafiul Alam told reporters after the meeting.

He said, according to the policy, the award will be given out to five individuals or organisations for contribution to social welfare under five separate categories every year. The award winners will get a gold medal, a replica memorabilia of the award, two lakh taka and a certificate of honour.
