Cabinet secretary hints for age extension of govt job entry

Senior Correspondent: Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam on Monday hinted for extension of age limit for government job entry.

He said, “We discussed the matter mutually. The age limit for the government jobs is likely to extend. But no final decision was made in this regard.”

In reply to a query, the secretary told this to the reporters at a press briefing after the cabinet meeting on Monday.

“The government is considering the matter positively. I hope of the extension of age limit for public service entry. But no direction was come out for extending age limit of retirement. You will soon come to know details what happens in this regard,” he added.

Currently, age limit of government job entry is 30 while for children and grand-children of Freedom Fighters is 32.

Government job seekers have been demanding for raise the age limit of public service to 35 years.

Recently, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Public Administration has recommended to extend the age limit for government job entry to 35 years.
