‘Candidate able to implement green city to be nominated’

Secretariat Correspondent: “We are thinking about some potential candidates from inside and outside the party. We will nominate such a candidate who can implement modern Dhaka and green city dreamt by former Mayor Annisul Huq,” Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said.

Quader came up with the comment while talking to journalists about the possible candidate of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) by-election at the secretariat on Wednesday.

Ruling out the allegation of BNP that the government is in a hurry to arrange the DNCC by-election, Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said the polls will be held within next 90 days.

BNP leaders are making this allegation as they are not ready to take part in the election, he said.
