RU Correspondent: A case has been filed over beating up the Daily Star's Correspondent at the Rajshahi University (RU) campus.
Journalist Arafat Rahman who sustained severe injuries in his eyes filed the case against four Chhatra League leaders and some unknown people with Motihar Police Station around 11:00pm on Monday.
Humayun Kabir, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Motihar Police Station, confirmed the news.
He said, "Mahmudur Rahman Kanon, secretary for information and research affairs of RU unit, and Saiful Islam Bijoy, secretary of legal affairs, vice-president Ahmed Sajib and organising secretary Abid Ahsan Labon and 8 to 10 other unknown have been sued over the incident."
Arafat is currently undergoing treatment at the ward no. 8 at Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital.
It may be mentioned that BCL leaders and activists were vandalising buses at the main gate of the university around 11:00am on Monday. They attacked on The Daily Star's correspondent Arafat Rahman while he went there to capture the incident. Later, he was rushed to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital in injured.
